Tirreno-Adriatico 2022: the route and the 7 stages under X-rays. It starts with the time trial, Monte Carpegna decisive

Sport

The start of one of the most anticipated annual events of road cycling in Italy is approaching: we are talking about the Tirreno-Adriatico , now in its fifty-seventh edition . Seven stages scheduled, from Monday 7 March to Sunday 13 in a week not to be missed; let’s see, in detail, the route stage by stage.

FIRST STAGE: LIDO DI CAMAIORE (TIME TRIAL, 13.9 KM)

Altitude stage 1 2022 Tirreno-Adriatico

The debut of the Tirreno-Adriatico 2022 includes a time trial at Lido di Camaiore , in the province of Lucca: 13.9 km flat with no difficulties in sight.

SECOND STAGE: CAMAIORE – SOVICILLE (219 KM)

Altitude stage 2 2022 Tirreno-Adriatico

The second stage presents the longest route of the entire race (with its 219 kilometers) but, at the same time, without particular difficulties for the runners.

THIRD STAGE: MURLO – TERNI (170 KM)

Altitude Stage 3 2022 Tirreno-Adriatico

Slightly undulating course of 170 km in total that will lead the runners to move from Tuscany to Umbria. The final downhill was inevitably decisive, followed by a flat stretch and a final straight of 350 meters.

FOURTH STAGE: MARMORE WATERFALL – BELLANTE (202 KM)

Altitude Stage 4 2022 Tirreno-Adriatico

On the occasion of the fourth stage we will cross the Apennines, also passing through Ascoli Piceno. Slightly complicated to tackle the start, with a succession of climbs that will take the runners to the Valico Torre Fuscello (highest point of the route). The finale includes a circuit to be completed twice, before the uphill finish.

FIFTH STAGE: SEFRO – FERMO (155 KM)

Altitude stage 5 2022 Tirreno-Adriaticot

Difficult route with difficult climbs for all runners to tackle: just think of the Muro di Monte Urano, where you will also reach a 15% gradient. Even the final hides pitfalls, with the last few kilometers uphill including the finish line, placed at the end of a ramp at 10% (approximately).

SIXTH STAGE: APECCHIO – CARPEGNA (215 KM)

Altimetry / Profile Stage 6 Tirreno-Adriatico 2022

The elevation makes us understand the complexity of the sixth and penultimate stage: the final circuit of Cippo di Carpegna , to be repeated twice, is very demanding, a 6-kilometer climb with gradients of up to 14%. In short, a final as difficult as it is unpredictable and fascinating.

SEVENTH STAGE: SAN BENEDETTO DEL TRONTO – SAN BENEDETTO DEL TRONTO (159 KM)

Altitude stage 7 2022 Tirreno-Adriatico

The last stage is rough, slightly undulating in the first part, and then is totally flat in the final 80 kilometers; a 15 km circuit is planned to be repeated five times.
