Omloop Het Nieuwsblad 2022: first starter of Northern Classics. Sonny Colbrelli and Wout van Aert are back in the race

First starter of Northern Classics in Belgium for this new road cycling season. Omloop Het Nieuwsblad 2022 , now in its 77th edition, will be staged on Saturday. Let’s find out in detail the Belgian race with route, altitude and favorites.

Two of the most anticipated runners of the spring are back in the race. Wout van Aert said he was ready to launch the attack on a Monument after a not exhausting winter in cyclocross. Italy instead relies on its star of 2021, that Sonny Colbrelli, champion of Italy and Europe and above all winner of the Paris-Roubaix. Watch out also for Jasper Stuyven (Trek-Segafredo), winner in 2020. Runners to follow also Kasper Asgreen (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team), Matteo Trentin (UAE Emirates) and Peter Sagan (TotalEnergies).
