NBA, Manu Ginobili will be inducted into the Hall of Fame in the class of 2022

There is certainly no surprising news, after all it was only a matter of time. Apparently, therefore, it was decidedly quick to elect Manu Ginobili to the NBA Hall of Fame, with an absolutely inevitable consecration for a player who has been able to combine imagination, quality, character and intensity like few others in his generation. A champion , a team man, a talent outside the box and one of those players who really knew how to leave everyone speechless on the pitch.

The revelation of his entry into basketball’s most prestigious Hall of Fame came from the US site “The Athletic”, while the official announcement of the players selected for the 2022 class will arrive only tomorrow. Four names were selected together with the Argentine: Tim Hardaway, Swin Cash, George Karl and Bob Huggins . The ceremony, as a tradition, will take place on the evening of September 10 in Springfield, Massachusetts.

An absolutely deserved and inevitable recognition for the native of Bahia Blanca who also linked his career to Italy, given that at a young age (from 1998 to 2000) he wore the shirts of Viola Reggio Calabria , then that of Virtus Bologna (up to to 2002) with the famous Grand Slam of 2000 together with Ettore Messina.

Basketball, Gianni Petrucci confirms: “Italy will not play with Russia in qualifying for the World Cup. Disappointed by FIBA ”

From that moment the Argentine took off to the NBA after being chosen with the number 57 (with hindsight, that “lese majeste” …) in the 1999 Draft by coach Gregg Popovich . Manu has always played with the San Antonio Spurs jersey (1057 games with 14.043 points and two summons to the All Star Game in 2005 and 2011) and together with the Texan franchise he has conquered the beauty of 4 titles .

Let’s not forget, of course, also his great adventure with the Albiceleste national team, with the splendid gold medal at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens (won in the final against Italy, after knocking out the United States), plus the bronze medal . in Beijing 2008.
