MXGP, back to action with the Portuguese GP: Tim Gajser wants to stretch, will Jeffrey Herlings see himself again?

Everything is ready for the fourth round of the 2022 MXGP World Championship season . After having experienced the South American trip for the Argentine Grand Prix, the championship returns to Europe in view of the Portuguese Grand Prix which will take place on the Agueda track and will give away another 50 very heavy points for the general classification.

The first aspect to consider is that related to Jeffrey Herlings. The reigning world champion has been included in the entry list of the Lusitanian race and, consequently, could really make his return to the track after the pre-season injury that kept him in the pits in the first three chapters.

For the Dutchman, time is running out and he will have to stage an angry year to recover the many points lost in this start. Everything will revolve around what Tim Gajser will do . The Slovenian, in fact, flies to the top of the ranking with 141 points against the 124 of the rookie Maxime Renaux and the 118 of Jorge Prado. The mission for Jeffrey Herlings will be almost desperate, but it will be essential to get back into action immediately so as not to waste any more time.

Will we see Romain Febvre in action too? The absence was also heavy for the Frenchman from Kawasaki and his return to action will be decisive for his continuation of the year. At the moment everything seems to be focusing on Tim Gajser, who is good at monopolizing this first part of the season. MXGP, as is well known, offers pitfalls curve after curve and never like this year the discussion will be continued until the autumn. In the meantime, let’s start with this Portuguese Grand Prix, with a parterre de roi that will give us a great show.
