Archived the South American trip to Argentina, the Motocross World Championship returns to Europe to compete this weekend (between Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 April) the 2022 Portuguese Grand Prix , the fourth round of the season and the first act of a doubleheader that will end on Sunday 10 April on Italian track of Pietramurata for the Trentino GP.

In MX2 the Belgian Jago Geerts (Yamaha) shows up at the Agueda cross-track as championship leader with a good margin of 26 points on the great French rival Tom Vialle (KTM) and 27 on the surprising German Simon Laengenfelder (GasGas), while all the others pursuers are already showing a gap of more than 40 points from the red plate.

A new duel for success is expected between Geerts and Vialle also in the Iberian Peninsula, with several outsiders vying for the podium who will be able to be ready in case at least one of the two big favorites should make mistakes.

Important ambitions in Italy for Andrea Adamo and Mattia Guadagnini, currently 5th and 6th in the general classification of the World Championship. The eighteen year old Sicilian of SM Action Racing Team Yuasa Battery has already taken away the satisfaction of getting on the overall podium this year in front of the Mantua crowd and will be looking for a new prestigious result after a difficult GP in South America.

Top3 goal of the stage vanished by a whisker instead in Patagonia by the 19-year-old native of Bassano del Grappa, who now must confirm himself at high levels also in Portugal to prove that he has definitively put behind him a start to the season below expectations. Also noteworthy is the Danish Kawasaki Mikkel Haarup in the possible battle for the podium on the Lusitanian track, while the Dutch Kay De Wolf and the Swede Isak Gifting are not at their best physically.
