Many stars entered in an evening of great athletics in the sixth round with the top international indoor circuit, penultimate in view of the World Championships to be held in Belgrade from 18 to 20 March.

The absolute star promises to be the five-time Olympic speed champion, the Jamaican Elaine Thompson-Herah who in Tokyo climbed to the top step of the podium in three races: 100, 200 and the 4 × 100 relay. The Jamaican will be the most awaited athlete of the meeting that could also take off in the middle distance with two announced world record attempts: in the women’s field in the 1500s, the Ethiopian Gudaf Tsegay will try to do better than the 3’53 “09 he scored on 9 February last year in Lievin, while in the men’s field the protagonist will be another Ethiopian, the 21-year-old Selemon Barega who will try to do better than the historic 7’24 “90 scored by the Kenyan Daniel Komen 23 years ago, on 6 February 1998 in Budapest.
