F1, Charles Leclerc’s precedents in the Australian GP. A Top5 and many memories

There are many memories that Charles Leclerc has at Albert Park, a track that will host the third round of the F1 2022 World Championship in a few groups. The protagonists return to Australia, a land far from the calendar from the maximum formula in the last two years due to the health emergency .

There are many innovations for the non-permanent facility located in the State of Victoria, the traditional opening round of the ‘Circus’. We remember in fact the huge changes that have been made to all the corners and the removal of the ninth and tenth fold, chicane present in the second sector. The goal is to increase overtaking with the new single-seaters, a mission that cannot be taken for granted.

Leclerc boasts a fifth place in his two appearances in Oceania, one with Alfa Romeo and one with Ferrari. 2018 marked his debut with the Monegasque’s Swiss team, 13th at the finish in the first race which subsequently brought him to the Maranello house alongside the German Sebastian Vettel.

The situation was very different in 2019, a race that saw the former FIA F2 champion immediately competitive. The # 16 of the group obtained the first Top5 , the best result of his career before climbing on the podium at the second round of the year in the Bahrain GP.

Missing a Top3 or a success for Leclerc who arrives in Australia with all the credentials to do well. Ferrari is called to confirm what was shown in Jeddah, the changes made in Melbourne make the track very fast and a new duel between Red Bull and the 24-year-old from Monte Carlo as happened in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) is not to be excluded.
