Dwars door Vlaanderen 2022: Flanders’ last starter, challenge between Pogacar and van der Poel

It is the last starter of the Tour of Flanders, less than five days from the Ronde. Just looking at the path and, above all, the startlist, the show is guaranteed. Appointment tomorrow with the Dwars door Vlaanderen , the Belgian classic now in its seventy-sixth edition.

The route includes 183.7 kilometers starting from Roeselare and arriving in Waregem. Thirteen walls are scheduled , especially in the final phase of the race. Crucial will be the final junction with the Ladeuze and the Nokereberg, about 20 kilometers from the finish that anticipate two sections in cobblestones and the final wall of Holstraat.

Two big favorites on the eve, two of the most anticipated riders also in a Ronde key. Tadej Pogacar is making his debut in the Northern Classics but he already wants to make the big voice, perhaps forgetting the (small) disappointment of the Milan-Sanremo. Challenging the Slovenian of UAE Emirates is Mathieu van der Poel : the Dutch from Alpecin-Fenix is back to racing at full speed and already seems to be in a more than decent form.

In any case, there are many names to follow. From Mads Pedersen (Trek-Segafredo) to our Matteo Trentin (UAE Emirates) passing through the defending champion Dylan van Baarle (Ineos Grenadiers) up to pure specialists of these races such as Sep Vanmarcke (Israel – Premier Tech).
