Not the beginning of the dream season for Filippo Baroncini . The new professional of Trek-Segafredo, Under23 world champion last year in Flanders, crashed last February 16th in the first stage of the Volta ao Algarve, from Portimao to Lagos, being forced to retire.
Unfortunately for him the slip nine days ago was not without consequences, causing a displaced fracture of the radius of his right arm. A week after the incident, Baroncini underwent an operation to reduce the fracture itself.
This was announced by Trek-Segafredo itself, who announced that the intervention was successful. Filippo Baroncini has returned home and will begin rehabilitation as soon as possible to get him back on his bicycle within a month.
