Curling, World Cup 2022: Sweden favored, Scotland renewed, Italy outsider

The 2022 Curling World Cup will be staged in Las Vegas (USA) from 2 to 10 April. The city of Nevada will host the world championship that closes this intense season on ice after the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. A great show is expected, with thirteen national teams ready to face off for glory : the classic round robin is expected, the first two classified will go directly to the semifinals while the formations between third and sixth place will have to pass from the playoffs which will offer the last two passes for the knockout phase.

Sweden presents itself with all the favors of the prediction. Skip Niklas Edin , who has finally taken the five-circle gold medal, will try to defend the title he won last year. Scotland should be the great rival of the Scandinavians, but there will be no skip Bruce Mouat : the quartet will be led by Kyle Waddell, who will try to lead the European Champions and World and Olympic finalists. Brad Gushue’s Canada and Yannick Schwaller’s Switzerland are the outsiders of the eve together with Italy: Joel Retornaz, Amos Mosaner, Sebastiano Arman, Simone Gonin, Mattia Giovanella have all the credentials to be able to aim for a prestigious result.
