Sport

The 2022 Under 23 Cross-Country Skiing World Championships continue in Lygna , Norway : today the women’s 5 km and the men’s 10 km were scheduled.

Good blood does not lie: this could be summarized as the result of the women’s 5 km , in which the Russian Dariya Nepryaeva (sister of the champion Natalia ) won the gold medal , closing the race in 14’30 ″ 1 in front of her compatriot , silver medal , Elizaveta Bekisheva (+2 ″ 9); the Norwegian Emma Kirkeberg Moerk completes the podium winning the bronze (+4 ″ 0). The first of the blue is Iris De Martin Pinter , seventeenth at +42 ″ 6; Nadine Laurent closes twenty-third (+55 ″ 5); 28th Denise Dedei (+ 1’08 ″ 0), while Elisa Gallo closes in 39th place (+ 1’24 ″ 7).

A near-miss medal, in the men’s 10 km , for the blue Elia Barp who does not go beyond fourth place and therefore does not grab the podium occupied, also in this case, by two Russian athletes: gold for Saveliy Korostelev (26’15 ″ 8) , bronze for Alexander Ivshin (+22 ″ 2), while the silver medal goes to the Finnish Niko Anttola (+21 ″ 4).

Winter sports, FIS cancels all races in Russia for war: six World Cup events canceled

Really a pity for Barp who gave his all but, on the finish line, pays 40 ″ 3 from the winner Korostelev and 18 ″ 1 from the last step of the podium , occupied by Ivshin. The performance of the young blues is however to be considered positive, three have grabbed the top 10 : in addition to Barp, we find Davide Ghio in eighth position (+ 1’09 ″ 8), while in tenth place is Benjamin Schwingshackl (+1 ’12 ″ 5). 21st , finally, Simone Mastrobattista (+ 1’35 ″ 4).
