After two years of absence due to a pandemic , the Circuit Cycliste Sarthe returns to compete, a transalpine stage race that winds its way through northern France. Since 2005 the race has been part of the UCI Europe Tour calendar as a 2.1 class event and has reached its 68th edition.
Four stages are scheduled for a total of 715.8 kilometers. The sprinters will have several opportunities to show off, the altitude difficulties proposed by the route are few (for example, the traditional ascent to Mont des Avaloirs is missing).
Italy boasts only one success in the event, dating back to 1996 with Adriano Baffi.
