Valentino Rossi: unlucky debut in the World GT Challenge

Valentino Rossi’s first race at the World GT Challenge did not go in the way hoped, thanks to a beginner’s mistake.

He had eaten the leaf, Valentino Rossi. When, close to the GT World Challenge, making his debut as a professional four-wheeler, he defined the competition as “a jungle”, finding himself on the track with 50 other cars in a fight with each other on the Imola circuit. Indeed, the former MotoGP rider had a hard day, which ended with a mistake that cost the team a lot, resulting in an overall 17th place for the crew.

The three hours of Imola was certainly not a healthy walk. In fact, sensational twists and turns prevented us from easing the tension from start to finish. The fight has turned into a kind of lottery, between accidents and the safety car. Capitalizing on a safety car situation, the Doctor drove his Audi R8 to the pits to change the driver and hand over the steering wheel to Vervish. Unfortunately, in the general confusion, the native of Tavullia did not stop at the right box. As soon as he realized he had passed his garage, he had to get back on track and take another lap.

Betrayed by inexperience

In short, inexperience played a bad joke on Valentino Rossi. But then he is a real rookie in the category and the conditions made it easy to get confused. The mix of factors caused the multiple champion of the World Championship to be very disappointed, but the whole team gave him a consoling hug. The team will still have the opportunity to take away some satisfactions during the championship.

To the microphones in the post-race VR46 commented on the mistake declaring: “What a pity, because up to that moment everything had gone smoothly. In the pits there were so many cars, a lot of confusion, we lost a lot of time ”. The other Audi R8 of the WRT team, the one driven by Vanthhor, Weerts and van der Linde, won the success.
