Porsche: Will replace the more than 1,000 cars sunk with the Felicity Ace


Despite the shortage of microchips and the aftermath of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Porsche will produce replacements for the Felicity Ace.

The disaster of Felicity Ace, a cargo ship full of vehicles, including those of pure luxury, dates back to last February. Racing cars with Lamborghini, Bentleys and a series of Porsches ready for delivery. At first the means of transport went up in flames, and then sank in the following days with all its cargo.

This incident led to the reopening of the Lamborghini Aventador production line, recalling it from retirement. But not only. In fact, from what emerges the Porsche executives would also be willing to make an additional effort to meet the demand of their customers again.

Blume’s promise

Porsche CEO Oliver Blume highlighted how the German manufacturer is determined to replace the finished units on the ocean floor. Asked by the sector magazine Autocar , the big boss of the company highlighted the difficulties in implementing a similar move. In fact, the problems related to the shortage of semiconductors are well known, to which are added the inconveniences caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Yet, despite the logistical complications, the commitment is not to fall short of the initial plans . At the moment, no exact date has been given when the delivery of the units in question will take place. Likewise, no information was released about which cars were involved in the Felicity Ace crash. However, there is talk of a number exceeding a thousand vehicles . We recall that on board the vessel there were over 4 thousand, for a total value of about 400 million dollars.

Specifically, Lamborghini lost 15 Aventador in the Ultimae version, or its swan song, but in total the Sant’Agata Bolognese cars amounted to 85. Bentley lost 189, while for Audi and Volkswagen the estimated figure exceeds the threshold of the 2 thousand.
